Apostle William J. Denson Biography
Apostle William J. Denson is an avid Christian Educator whose desire is to see people positively changed and dedicated to God by the teaching the scriptures.
He surrendered his will to the Lord and accepted the call to ministry in 1981 as a counselor under the late Dr. Clarence R. Johnson. In 1985, God called him to the ministerial staff of Brooklyn Tabernacle Deliverance Center where he served diligently as minister and head counselor of the Counseling Ministry.
After a few years of faithful service under the leadership of the late Bishop James F. Copeland, Apostle Denson was appointed assistant Pastor. He amply fulfilled that role until 1997 when God elevated him to Pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Deliverance Center. On January 23, 2015 Apostle William J. Denson became the overseer of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Deliverance Center.
Apostle Denson received his Bachelor of Theology, Masters of Theology, Doctor of Theology and PhD in Theology here in New York City. He is the President of Community Bible Institute & Seminary in Brooklyn, New York, as well as India, Africa, New Jersey, Manhattan, Philippines, Hempstead N.Y., Trinidad & Tobago and Liberia.
Apostle Denson is Overseer of over 13 fire baptized churches and has raised bible schools in Liberia, West Africa, North Carolina, South Carolina, Trinidad & Tobago and two satellite schools in Brooklyn, New York. He is also in fellowship with Bible Schools in Bennettsville and Hartsville South Carolina. To the Glory of God, he is the Chancellor of the Dr. Clarence R. Johnson Christian Academy. His next endeavor is to fellowship with the Assemblies of God churches in Ethiopia and the Lost Tribes of Liberia.
Apostle Denson is aware of the mantle that has been placed on his life and his responsibility to minister the unadulterated word of God and live in integrity. He is prayerfully and graciously being used as an instrument in God's hands to impart the word of God into the lives of people. Apostle Denson resides in Brooklyn, New York with his wife, Arlene. Together they have six children and three grandchildren.

In 2015, Apostle Denson appointed Pastor Jacqueline Barksdale as Senior Pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Deliverance Center.
Pastor Barksdale graduated from the Community Bible Institute & Seminary (CBI&S) with bachelor's degrees in Theology and Religious Education. She has retired from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center after 35 years of employment. Along with pastoring the church she also searches the Book of Acts and Missions at CBI&S, She has also taught at the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Studies.
Pastor Barksdale has been very active in outreach ministry, while employed at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, she ministered to the sick and with a team organized the Wednesday Noonday Chapel Services. Her outreach ministry covers Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx. In this endeavor, she has fed the hungry, found shelter for the homeless and ministered to the youth in Spafford Youth Correctional Facility in the Bronx, and Elis McQueen Correctional Facility in Brooklyn, by teaching the youth of the love of Jesus.
Pastor Barksdale has traveled extensively with Apostle Denson as a team leader on missionary trips to India, Africa, the Philippines, Kuwait, Dubai, Liberia, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States of America.
She is the mother of two sons - Marcus and Michael - who encourage her ministry. She also has many sons and daughters in the Lord, for whom she gives God praise.
Pastor Barksdale was called by God for ministry and is still on the battlefield for Him. To God be the Glory for her call, commissions, and commitment.
